Puzzle #4: Who has the better position here?

It is white's turn to play in this mid-game scenario.  So, who is better off and why?

  1. Black appears to have superior road threat on the 4th row. White has a weak cap stone and any road threat it can create weakens defense of the 4th row.

    1. Agreed. In this game, white played a very "white" style...placing flats and continuing to lay on the threats. The unfortunate downside to this was that black made captures that not only reduced tempo for white, but also gave black's capstone more maneuverability, and set up the current board state.
